TERMS & CONDITIONS

PROCESS

Once you have paid for your registration, you will receive a confirmation email. THIS IS YOUR TICKET to the conference. We will also have a record of your transaction. Only one registration is permitted per user email.

Once payment is made, you will receive both a confirmation pop-up message with a link to access the Workshop Selection Form AND you will receive this link in an email confirmation. Be sure to check your spam folder. We highly recommend you select your workshops early as space is limited in some.

The Workshop Selection Form has further instructions on what to expect and how to choose workshops. Once this is submitted, you will receive an email confirming your schedule. We recommend you print this schedule out or bookmark it.

Included in Registration Fee

  1. On land and on-the-water (based on availability and weather) workshops from 8:30am – 4:40pm June 8, 2024
  2. Breakfast, lunch and snacks at the post event social / fundraiser raffle. A cash bar will be available at the post event fundraiser.
  3. Life jackets for those on-the-water may be available on the boats but you are encouraged to bring your own.
  4. Access to sailboats at no extra fee.
  5. Access to merchandise on-site for purchase.
  6. Registrants are responsible for their own travel and transportation costs to and from the Event.

**note: Registrants must be prepared for all and any kind of weather, temperatures and precipitation. Please, check the weather and consider bringing different layers of clothing. Clothing for rain. Sunscreen. Sunglasses. Sun hat. Refillable water bottle. Your own personal medication.

Workshops

  1. We cannot guarantee the availability of all workshops either due to them being sold out or being canceled due to any reasons we deem necessary or reasons beyond our control (instructor illness, bad weather, etc.)
  2. Once registration payment has been confirmed, your confirmation email will contain the link to the Workshop Selection Form.
  3. Once this form is completed and submitted, another confirmation email will contain the summary and schedule of your selections. You are encouraged to print or save this schedule.
  4. Registrants may choose only one on-the-water session.

Limits

  1. Only one registration is permitted per person (email) as this is how we keep track of the registrant name and numbers of registrants per workshop.
  2. We collect your email because it is needed to receive a personalized Workshop Selection Form (Liability Waiver information).
  3. The Sunday, June 9th event at New Orleans Yacht Club is not included in the Registration Fee

**note: The June 9 event is open to everyone (women, men & non-conference registrants of all ages) for an entry fee/

 

Payments

  1. We use the Paypal portal at checkout to collect payments.
  2. You do not need a Paypal account to pay, as Paypal accepts credit cards as well.
  3. There are no added fees charged by NWSA for the payer to use Paypal or their credit card payment option.

Usage

  1. NWSA Members must be logged into the website using their username or email and password to access the discounted prices for registration.
  2. All registrants’ name and information will be part of a master list of attendees and be part of NWSA’s conference correspondence email and phone communications. If you no longer want to receive emails from NWSA after the conference you can unsubscribe.
  3. All registrants must read the liability waiver and check the box. This form will be sent via email with the Workshop Selection Form.

Definitions

  1. “Event” means the June 8, 2024 content
  2. “All Levels” are open to anyone.
  3. “Beginner” on-land workshops can be attend by All Levels
  4. “Take The Helm” on-the-water sessions are for Beginners only
  5. Other on the water sessions are indicated as to what level they are appropriate
  6. Beginner means: sailors with zero to limited time on sailboats; who have had limited time on sailboats as crew, but may be somewhat familiar with terms, but still are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with sail trim and are unfamiliar with boat systems, or how the boat is controlled under power or sail in varied weather conditions. New boat owners with no or limited understanding of the systems or how the boat sails and maneuvers under power.
  7. Intermediate means: Have some experience on sailboats. Owns a sailboat and knows its ins and outs. Have 2-5 years of consistent experience on different types of sailboats. Can take charge of specific crew positions. Can sail and maneuver under power and dock with just one other (2 handed). Has some experience at the helm. May have crewed on boat teams, but not mastered all weather conditions or sail trim intricacies. On a path to wanting to become a certified teacher or learn additional boat positions or to move into racing.
  8. Advanced means: Has extensive experience on different sizes of sailboats in different kinds of waterways and weather. May have owned or owns a sailboat and has cruised or raced for at least 3-5 years. Has led, skippered, or navigated, a sailboat. Is on a path to wanting to become a certified teacher or run a race boat and wants to sail solo.
