COVID-19 wiped sailing and in person events on the NWSA 2020 calendars clean after March last year. While we will continue to engage our members on-line, we are cautiously reentering the realm of in person engagements.

WHAT WE LEARNED IN 2020

The success of NWSA’s OLÉ – On Line Expo showed us the enormous benefits for hosting on-line events, learning opportunities and panels. As a nation-wide association, we reached and served many more of our members on Zoom or other video outreach than was previously possible.

And we also grew to deeply understand the human need to engage and share a common experience and place. We are committed to continue both traditional and new methods of program delivery.

OFFERING TRADITION
June 6, 2021

After 18 years of in-person gathering for a NWSA Conference in Marblehead, it grew to be an event many women looked forward to all year. So we plan to continue the tradition of supporting a Marblehead conference the first Saturday in June.

Because of the early summer 2021 date, we recognize the odds for a safe, fully in-person gathering to learn and socialize at the Corenthian Yacht Club are still unfavorable. Don’t despair! NWSA plans an event for June 5. So while the date and the venue are familiar much of the event will be on-line.

OFFERING DIVERSITY

September 11, 2021
Mark your calendars for The National Women’s Sailing Conference at the Jackson Park Yacht Club in Chicago! With a game-changing COVID-19 vaccine roll out gaining speed, we are hopeful the National Women’s Sailing Conference will be our first in-person event in over a year!

Our theme “Sharing Sailing” will celebrate the women who teach, coach and find ways to invite all of us aboard. Attendees will have new opportunities to connect with friends, make new shipmates, perhaps discover a new place to sail, and of course, learn new skills.
